“The greek Konstantinos Destounis offered a vibrant concerto by Grieg full of poetry, strength, contrast and sonority. The marvelous beginning of the Adagio (one of the most beautiful pages ever written), for example, was brilliantly well achieved thanks to a balanced and poetical dialogue between the orchestra and the piano. And the same can be said for the other movements, with different expressive needs, that the greek pianist knew how to endow with a resounding sonority without falling into empty virtuosism.”

“The greek Konstantinos Destounis achieved an interpretation well fitted into the stylistic parameters proposed by Edvard Grieg in his famous Concerto in A minor op.16. From the first movement we should emphasize his metric containment, that favored the beautiful cadenza, in which we could notice its musical personality. The lyrical sense that he offered in the central Adagio was the best feature of his performance, given the poetic character that he imprinted with his playing. This quality also emerged again in the cantabile manner of exposing the Allegro, finishing with an excellent execution of its cadenza, leaving a global sensation that he understood this concerto, including its most sensationalist details.”, concert review by José Antonio Cantón
