“Pianist Konstantinos Destounis toured in North-East England, giving eight solo recitals in six days (14-19th November 2016). The tour was organized by “Master Musicians International”. In addition, on 5th November Konstantinos Destounis gave the opening recital of Thessaloniki Piano Festival 2016 in Greece. On 18th December he played Rachmaninoff’s second Piano Concerto, accompanied by Murcia Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Gonzalo Berna Pic. The concert took place in Auditorio Victor Villegas in Murcia, Spain. It was taped by the Spanish Television (TV7 Channel) and broadcasted on Christmas Day.”

Konstantinos Destounis’ interview on Amagi Radio:

“Scholar and pianist Konstantinos Destounis performed a solo recital at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on 18 September 2016. During the recital works of the Greek composers Theodoros Antoniou (Prelude and Toccata), Giannis Psathas (Jettatura), and Dimitrios Skyllas (Nine Miniatures for the Universe) were presented in England for the first time along with works by Chopin and Liszt.

Of the many performances the pianist has made recently, others that stands out are the recital at the Athens Concert Hall on 8 April, as part of the Pianorama cycle, and his collaboration with the ERT Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michalis Ikonomou when he performed Tchaikovsky’s First Concerto for piano and orchestra. The concert took place on 30 March at Studio C of the ERT Building and was broadcast live on the radio station ERT Trito. Konstantinos Destounis also had a solo recital at London’s Steinway Hall on 9 March and another at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on 25 January 2016.”
